Borrowing
You are able to borrow and download digital items directly from the catalog, without needing to go to the third party content provider (Libby/Overdrive, CloudLibrary).
Borrowing digital items directly from the catalog is dependent on an integration. If your library does not have this enabled, you will need to use the third party service directly. There will be a link available beside the item to direct you to the correct provider.
To place a hold
- Log in to the catalog
- Run your search.
- For the title you want to borrow, click the Request this Download button.
- An overlay appears with a Place Hold button. The overlay displays the available formats, so that if you need a specific format, you can see if it's provided for that title before you place the hold.
- When the hold becomes available,
You can cancel our hold at any time by returning to the item details page and clicking Cancel Hold. If the item becomes available and you do not check it out, your hold will be suspended until you return to renew the hold and re-enter the queue for the item.
Canceled holds do not appear on the canceled holds tab on your holds page.

Refer to your library for more information about any digital providers and how to access them on other devices or applications.
What is a Digital Notification Email?
A digital notification email is the address to which notices will be sent when you have an eBook or downloadable audiobook available to download. An email address is required to place a hold on a digital title. Your digital notification email can be the same as or different from the Email Address you enter on your Account Information page.
