Q: What is Borrowing History?
A: Your library does not retain records of your borrowing without your direction to do so. However, when you enable the Borrowing History feature, the system keeps a list of the titles you borrow.
Q: Can I see items I borrowed last year on the Borrowing History page?
A: Borrowing History begins keeping a list of items you borrow starting when you turn it on. If you enabled the feature last year, you can see what you borrowed last year.
Q: Can other library users see my borrowing history?
A: No, it’s private. Only you can see your borrowing history.
Q: What happens to my history if I turn off Borrowing History?
A: If you turn off tracking of your borrowed items, the existing history is removed. If you decide to turn the feature back on, only items you borrow after that time are recorded.
Q: How long is borrowing history information retained?
A: This varies depending on your library. At some libraries, your borrowing history is only kept for 3 months. At others, the history is retained indefinitely. Ask your library what the retention period is for your library. Remember, you can keep a permanent record of items you’ve borrowed by adding them to your Completed shelf.
Q: What’s the difference between Borrowing History and My Shelves?
A: Your Completed shelf stores every item you rate or comment on. You can also add titles directly to this shelf, such as books you have at home. Borrowing History tracks items you borrow from your library. You can’t add items to this page.
Q: I can’t find the Borrowing History feature. Where is it?
A: If Borrowing History does not appear on the menu, in the My Borrowing block along with Checked Out and On Hold, then this feature is not offered at your library.
